This was my first football management game. I'm sure I went to pick up LMA Manager and the guy in the shop aked if I had a PC as I'd be better off buying Champ man 01/02. Well I listened to the guy and bought it, and it literally took 1000's of hours of my life. Championship Manager: Season 99/00 (aka CM 99/00) is a video game published in 1999 on Windows by Eidos Interactive, Inc. It's a strategy, simulation and sports game, set in a managerial and soccer / football (european) themes.

Me, Bobby Robson and Terry Venables (God rest his soul) used to play this when I got back from Grandstand. Love it. These days I go round Terry's to watch him play CM01/02 with Gareth Southgate.

This was where it all began. The Collier brothers making a game in their bedroom, which although not too well received at first, slowly built up a reputation for excellent stats, tactics and gameplay, and eventually dominated the management simulation genre. Me and Bobby Robson (God rest his soul) used to play this with Des Lynam on a Sunday, after Des got back from Grandstand.
There best game in the series was of course Championship Manager 01/02.
